Hi,

Thank you, this is a nice app and could be very useful to us if we could either export a view, or filter on the exported data while viewing it in DoorScope. Actually, being able to do both would be excellent.

Often we want to do a focused review on only a small subset of a module. It would be easier for the reviewers if only that subset were distributed. The reviewers wouldn't get confused by extraneous content. Our modules are pretty large and it's easy for casual users to get lost in the data.

Thanks,
Susan

Hi Susan

Thanks for your request. Let me ask some questions to understand your exact need. With "export a view" and "filter on the exported data" you mean the process of exporting the data from DOORS? Or do you mean filtering within DoorScope Viewer so only a subset of the objects are presented? The further could be done by modifying the DXL script which runs within DOORS; the latter would be something I had to implement. The DXL script is available as source code (included in the ETL ZIP); an experienced DXL programmer could change it to filter and export any variation. If you work with ReqIF, the source application (DOORS or whatever) could export the view or query as ReqIF xml without any programming. Looking forward to hear from you.

Best regards
Rochus

Please note that starting with release 1.2 the DoorScope Viewer can filter the data (i.e. determine which subset of the content objects is displayed) by use of small Lua scripts, see here.
